The LOUNGE roundup

It was a great month to begin with this month... hurhurhur.... Sept is surely gonna be a month of bargain and good deal huntings. The lookout for best auctions and settling for the best deals. So it goes...

From Lava Lamps to Stereo Bluetooth Headphones ... i got 2 words for you... Yahoo Auction! and if everything else fails including time... Mustafa Center is open 24 hrs. I even wanna get my hangars there, even when the SHOP DOWNSTAIRS IS STILL OPEN!

Suddenly my shopping craze is at its peak. And the catalyst that triggers it hasn't been ascertained yet. Nonetheless... I enjoyed myself. Period.

So what's today's rantings about?

The Designer Holes. I was out in City Hall one fine afternoon. (It was a great day to be out... the Sun is Sunny... everyone else is working...) Decide to drop by the Levi's Shop to get that Sling Bag i had been eyeing for quite sometime. Well, when u're in Rome, do what the Romans do... so if u are in a Jeans store... do the browsing even if you don't intend to buy any...

And So i did... and ... I came across this pair... the one with the "designer holes"... the ones that looked as if it had been worned and pass down for generations from grandpa to grandson. To think it would be cheap..but NOOOO.... its like double or triple the price compared to anyother regular jeans. The one that normal people wear.

"How you dress," says Bob, "tells the world how to treat you. Your clothes say quite a bit."

(Bob is apparently the name of the guy attending to me... I mean.. who name themselves BOB!)

My own outfit said, "I live with my parents." Bob suggested that my inner t-shirt could be smaller and slightly less blue to go with the jacket, and that my khaki pants be "pressed" (I believe they have special machines for that).

This from a man who was selling pants WITH HOLES IN THEM.

"What's the difference," I asked, "between designer holes and the ones that occur naturally over time?"

"About two hundred dollars," said Bob.

So i just got my Sling bag and scoot off to the nearest departmental store... (Claims to have a 40% off on regular items.)

Got myself another Jacket and a nice roundneck t-shirt.. to go along with it...

BACK TO MY CLOSET

When I returned home, I couldn't look my clothing in the eye. The shirts seemed to slouch on their hangers, and my shoe rack smelled like the seventies. Sliding through the hodgepodge, I realized that my only hope was a closet fire.

They say that fashion takes only common sense, but that begs a question: Who the heck are "they," and why are they making our lives miserable? Is there a round table where They decide what is in like the Cool Committee from secondary school?

I suspect that They have been in the business so long that, they're no longer qualified to judge. How else can you explain those faded-thigh jeans with "DESIGNER HOLES" that make it look like you've been dragged behind an Isuzu lorry for several lamp posts?

If you ask this any how dresser, fashion is whatever makes you feel more like you. As good as it feels to get it on with anything, I myself am tired of being profiled by the fashion police. If I followed their instructions, my wardrobe would finally be reduced down to one type of clothing -- a straitjacket. Hurhurnur and they came up with TYPE 1 jeans... ( i mean what's 1 suppose to mean anyway!)

Remember, guys: Today's fashion is tomorrow's dirty laundry, and there's nothing as stylish as owning what you've got. Just don't outdress your girlfriend.
